Automatic charging of late cancellations

If you teach: in Availability → Bookings and cancellations, turn on Automatically charge late cancellations to the saved card (you need to accept payments with Stripe). Your students will be able to save a card. When one cancels after the deadline and your policy charges for it:

• We email them that the fee will be charged in 24 hours.
• During that time you can waive it from the lesson page (Waive the fee).
• After 24 hours it’s charged once to your Stripe account, with no NowLesson commission, and you both get the receipt.
• If the charge doesn’t go through (card declined or the bank asks for confirmation), the student pays it by hand from Buy, as usual.

If you’re learning: if your teacher charges fees automatically, you’ll see Save a card in Buy. You need to tick the authorization, and the card is stored by Stripe in your teacher’s account; NowLesson never sees its number. Only fees arising after you save it are charged, always with 24 hours’ notice. You can remove the card from the same place at any time.

Without a saved card nothing changes: fees are paid by hand from Buy.
